Broadstone Choir members in New York’s Carnegie Hall

Six members of Broadstone choir travelled to the USA Big Apple to join the Distinguished Concerts International New York and perform in the world famous Carnegie Hall. The international choir sang Karl Jenkins' ‘Stabat Mater’ and the Welsh composer attended the performance.

Chair of the Broadstone choir David Endicott, who lead the local group, said the choir was delighted to have been invited and it was a hugely exciting opportunity to take part in such an event.

The group joined with over 270 other singers from all parts of the world to take part in three days of intensive rehearsals before the performance on 21st January which in the USA was also Martin Luther King Day.

In the past the Broadstone choir has made visits to France and sung in various venues in the Normandy region but travelling across the Atlantic is exceptional.

The choir are hoping to arrange further opportunities to sing overseas.
